How to get there:

HMP & YOI Guys Marsh is situated in a quiet rural location in the county of Dorset about two miles from the hilltop town of Shaftesbury.

By Train: The closest station is Gillingham (Dorset). A taxi will be required for the rest of the journey. There is a bus service provided by the Friends of Guys Marsh, available on Saturdays from Gillingham station to the prison costing £2 per adult return.

By Bus: Buses travel to Shaftesbury from the whole of the country and in some cases it is easier for people to come by bus than train, e.g. from Bournemouth. Enquiries should be made at your local bus station for information.

By Car: Guys Marsh lies on the B3091 road from Shaftesbury to Sturminster Newton, and is approximately two miles from Shaftesbury. Shaftesbury lies on the main A30 road running East-West, Salisbury to Yeovil, and on the A350 road running North-South, Warminster to Poole.
Free car parking is available at Guys Marsh.
